Proposed 7.0 Rules - Feedback requested
Submitted by Matt Puccio on 6/4/2007

The goal for the IFGS rules set 7.0 currently being discussed by the FRC (aka v6.97) is to increase the heroic high fantasy flavor of our system. To do this we are attempting to simplify the rules to eliminate unneeded complexity, which in turn will limit confusion. To do this it is our intention to give each character class the ability to be more self-sufficient by increasing the number of spell/courage/ranger/monk points that are available (as well as more per day uses for fighters and thieves). Also by changing the rules we are hoping that individual characters to have reason to use more of their own abilities instead of relying on other classes, or one or two specific classes, to help them. We are not trying to make each class totally independent of the other classes but we are trying to make sure that no one class is considered mandatory when putting together a team for a game Mostly we are trying to increase the amount of fun we can have by enhancing the role playing chances in the game.

By necessity we will have to remove certain SASs to achieve these goals. We will look for ways to replace these losses with new chances to explore and investigate your character and your character surroundings. We do not take the removal of a SAS lightly and will only do so when we feel that it will better the game. Like wise we do not want to give out new abilities unless we see a class that lacking a key ability.

As a note, as you look at these proposals, please remember two things. First, that what you see here are only proposals that we would like input on before we finalize anything and second, try to not think of how the changes affect only your character or favorite class, but on how the changes affect the entire system.

If you wish to send comments, ideas, or criticisms on any of the 7.0 proposed rules, remember this: give reasons for your opinion, and suggestions to make it better. Simply writing "I hate this" will be ignored.
